PART D – TROUBLESHOOTING
Use this table to diagnose and resolve basic problems. If a probe is present and you need to retrieve
it urgently, follow section C4.3.
If the problem persists, contact your trophon representative
Symptom
1. There is no power to the
trophon.
2. The screen is blank.
3. The chamber door will not
open.
4. The chamber door will not
close.
5. The chamber door is open
and locked.
6. The cartridge door does not
open.
7. The cartridge door will not
close.
8. The probe will not sit
correctly in the chamber.
9. The cycle will not start.
10. The trophon is beeping.
11. Liquid is leaking from the
trophon.
12. The trophon is failing
numerous cycles.
13. The trophon takes too long
to warm up between cycles

Check for the following:
The trophon is completely plugged in and switched ON at both the
trophon power switch and at the wall outlet.
The correct power cable for your region is used.
There is power to the trophon.
There is no disinfection, warm up or purge cycle running.
The probe is validated for use in the trophon EPR – see section
A2.1.
The probe is loaded correctly.
The chamber door is not in the "locked position": if in the 'locked'
position, see Symptom 5 below.
If the trophon is in sleep mode, select Restart on the LCD;
Otherwise, power the trophon OFF and back ON using the power
switch (see Figure 4).The trophon should then automatically
unlock the chamber door.
If the above are not successful, power OFF the trophon and follow
section C4.3. Close the chamber door before powering the
trophon EPR ON again.
There is power to the trophon.
All cycles are complete.
The waste container is empty and fully inserted.
There is nothing obstructing the cartridge door from opening.
Note, the cartridge door is automatic, and should not be forced
open.
Correct cartridge type has been inserted.
Cartridge is correctly positioned.
Cartridge lid has been removed.
The probe is validated for use in the trophon EPR – see section
A2.1.
The probe is loaded correctly.
Check whether a CPP accessory is required, on the Validated
probes list.
The probe is loaded correctly.
The chamber door is closed.
Confirm probe is clean & dry before pressing start button.
Probe inside the trophon which needs to be removed.
The chamber door is open.
On screen error message.
WARNING: Any fluid leaking from the trophon may
contain hydrogen peroxide.
If liquid or mist is seen coming from the trophon at any time:
 Do not come into contact with the mist or liquid.
 Wear appropriate PPE.
 Ensure area is well ventilated.
 Allow the trophon to complete the cycle.
 Turn off the trophon and remove the power cord.
 Contact your customer service representative.
Record any error codes and colour of the chemical indicator and
contact your customer service representative.
Ensure that the probe is removed immediately at the end of each
cycle.
