MAINTENANCE SAFETY INSPECTION CHECKLIST

ITEM
THE CASTER BASE
Inspect for missing hardware.
Base opens/closes with ease.
Inspect casters and axle bolts for tightness.
Inspect casters for smooth swivel and roll.
SHIFTER HANDLE
Operates smoothly.
Locks adjustable base whenever engaged.
THE MAST
Mast MUST be securely assembled to boom.
Inspect for bends or deflections.
THE BOOM
Check all hardware and swivel bar supports.
Inspect for bends or deflections.
Inspect bolted joints of boom for wear.
Inspect to ensure that the boom is
centered between the base legs.
THE SWIVEL BAR
Check the bolt / hooks for wear or damage.
Check sling hooks for wear or deflection.
THE MANUAL/HYDRAULIC PUMP/
ELECTRIC ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
Check for leakage.
Inspect hardware on mast and boom.
Check for wear or deterioration.
(IF DAMAGED, RETURN TO FACTORY).
Cycle to ensure smooth quiet operation.
THE PUMP HANDLE
Check for smooth operation.
THE CONTROL VALVE
Opens and closes easily.
CLEANING
Whenever necessary.
SLINGS AND HARDWARE
CHECK ALL SLING ATTACHMENTS each
time it is used to ensure proper
connection and patient safety.
Inspect sling material for wear.
Inspect straps for wear.

** NOTE: Regular cleaning will reveal loose or worn parts, enhance smooth operation and extend the life
expectancy of the lift.
