The reefing cleat 30.15 is attached to the main boom later
- Fig. 287.

Run the reefing lines through the 1 mm Ø holes in the
claws at the front end and tie knots in both ends.

Attach the schooner sail in a similar manner using the
lacings 30.16 and 30.17.

The reefing lines for the schooner sail are only attached
when needed.

Glue three pulley blocks 31.1 and split pins 31.2 in the pre-
pared holes in the jib boom 11.17 (Fig. 137) and the bow-
sprit (Fig. 139) - see Figs. 294 and 295.

Solder three further pulley blocks to the S-hooks 31.3 -
Fig. 292. The S-hooks must be closed up and soldered.

Splice the foresail halyard 31.4, the foresail stretcher 31.5
and the lashing 31.6 to the foresail 27.3 - see plans 3 and
4.

Prepare the jib 27.2 and the flying jib 27.1 in the same
manner - see plans 3 and 4.

Disconnect the forestay. Thread the foresail stay hooks
27.5 onto the forestay.

halyard free, then wind up the remainder over two fingers
- A.
Wind the free length twice through the loop - B, holding the
loop together so that it cannot come loose.
This process produces a coil of rope which can be hung
over a belaying pin - C.

Connect the pulley assembly 31.1 / 31.3 and the forestay.

Run the foresail halyard 31.4 through the pulley block and
belay it to the belaying ring as shown on plan 3 - Fig. 293.

Run the foresail stretcher 31.5 through the bottom pulley
block 31.1 and secure it to a belaying pin on the anchor
beam.

Belay the clew of the foresail to the foresail boom using
the lashing 31.6.

Attach the jib and the flying jib in a similar manner: run the
stretchers through the split pins 24.28 on the jig spreader
24.27 - Figs. 294 and 295.
