core piece 17.17 against the rail as a spacer, and glue the
second rail to the roof. Don't glue the core in place at this
stage - Fig. 192.

Note: the next step is to make the sliding hatch, but it is
best to make two of them at the same time; the second
hatch is required for the cabin.

Glue the front and rear hatch panels 17.18 on the obechi
core piece 17.17. Glue three roof strakes 17.19 on each
side of the centreline, then sand back the roof planking
flush with the core along the long edges.

Glue the corner strakes 17.20 in place, packing them up on
the jig strip "HL", and round off the edges as shown when

Sand the roof back between the rails 17.16 as far as the
back panel 17.5 in order to accommodate the loose
bulkhead - Fig. 194.
Glue the vertical rails 17.22 and the loose bulkhead com-
ponents 17.23 in place - Fig. 195.
The sliding hatch is secured by fitting the screw 17.24
through the housing roof from the underside.
