The radio control system
The Piccoboard can now be installed. Caution: don't

connect the board to the battery at this stage!
Please follow the remaining assembly instructions first,
and do remember to switch on the transmitter first, and
only then the receiver!
Complete all the connections apart from the flight battery,
then place the Piccoboard on the support with the
connections at the front and the LED on the right as seen
from the tail. Deploy all cables carefully, ensuring that they
cannot possibly come into contact with any moving parts.
Check also that the Piccoboard is positioned in such a way
that the servo leads fit under the canopy.
Fix the Piccoboard in position using double-sided foam
tape.The next step is to thread the receiver aerial through
two silicone sleeves No. 67388, and press them into the
underside of one of the landing skids as shown in the
drawing. The kit is also supplied with four additional O-rings
which can be fitted on the landing skids as an option. They
prevent the model skidding and swinging round on a
smooth surface.
Aerial
Ensure that the aerial cannot get tangled in the rotor when
flying aerobatics.

The rotor blades
The rotor blades of the PRO-Piccolo are supplied profiled
and CG-optimised, and only need to be finished off.This
process is important, so please take your time over it and
work carefully.
The following steps must be carried out separately for each
rotor blade. Examine the lead rods, and roll them on a flat
surface if they are not already straight. The lead rods
optimise the blade CG in the longitudinal direction. Fit one
lead rod in each of the prepared slots. Check that the rods
do not project beyond the blade profile at any point, and
carefully glue them in place from both sides.
Glue the lead securely: it is essential that the rods
should not be able to come free when the model is
flying.
Lead is a toxic heavy metal. Wash your hands thoroughly
when you have completed this stage.

The kit is supplied with enough blue self-adhesive film to cover
the rotor blades, although you can use a different colour film if
you prefer. In this case we recommend ORASTICK self-
adhesive film, which is available in model shops in many
colours. Spread out the self-adhesive film and peel off the
backing layer. Lay the film on a smooth, flat surface, adhesive
side up. Hold the rotor blade in the position shown, about 2 cm
above the film, and lower it carefully onto the adhesive, trailing
edge first. Once it is in contact with the film, roll the blade
forward from the trailing edge until the film is fixed to the whole
of this side of the rotor blade (later the top surface of the
profile).
Fold the short projecting flap over at the trailing edge of the
profile and press it down. We suggest that you hold the
blade by the tips, press the trailing edge down carefully on
the surface and slowly roll the blade round to the vertical
and down until the trailing edge makes contact along its
length, and the film is stick down. Now lay the blade flat
again and rub the film down firmly, starting from the centre.
Repeat the procedure with the long overlap at the leading
edge of the profile.
Take care to avoid creases and trapped air bubbles, and
keep the blade straight during the procedure to avoid
building in a warp or bend.
