The radio control system
Now press the clip onto the ball mounted on the swashplate
as shown. Hold the servo against the lateral gluing surface
and adjust its position until the swashplate is perpendicular
to the rotor shaft when viewed from the side. When you are
sure of this position, pull the servo away slightly and apply
cyano to the joint surface. Press the servo into the
previously determined location; you now have about 2 or 3
seconds to position it exactly correctly.
________________________________
The roll-axis servo is installed next. Connect the shorter
pushrod to the output arm, connect the clip and position the
servo as described above. In this case the swashplate must
be perpendicular to the rotor shaft when viewed from the
tail, looking forward. Once you are sure of this position, glue
the servo in place as described above.

The pushrods No. 67387 and 67411 include an
adjustment "V" so that you can make trim adjustments
without using the transmitter trim sliders.
By opening up or compressing these "V" bends you
can easily and conveniently alter the length of the
pushrods.
In this way you can trim the swashplate exactly level
while the transmitter trims are still at centre.
The swashplate should now be perpendicular (90°) to the
rotor shaft in all planes.

Press the cooling fan onto the motor shaft as shown,
and carefully push it along the shaft as far as it will go.
When you let go, the shaft will automatically spring
back slightly, thereby automatically creating the
clearance required between the motor can and the fan. Push
the motor pinion onto the shaft until it rests against the fan,
and secure it by tightening the M3 x 3 grubscrew. Secure the
fan housing and motor in the mounting slots using the two
M2.5 x 10 mm screws and washers. The gearbox must not
be tight or stiff; make sure there is slight play in the gears to
eliminate any stiffness. This is done by feeding a strip of
paper between the gears, pressing the motor against the
main gear, and then tightening the screws: tighten the front
screw carefully first, then tighten the rear screw. Wind the
strip of paper out again, and meshing clearance should be
correct. Correct clearance in the gearbox is an important
factor in obtaining long flight times and longevity generally.

Place the Piccoboard support on the tail boom and slide it
forward onto the chassis. Push the O-ring over the lug to
secure it.
