Setting the aerobatic flight pitch curve (angle of attack of the rotor blades)
With aerobatic flight, other settings are necessary for the motor speed and pitch than with normal flight/hovering. With the pitch curve, you set how much pitch (angle of
attack of the rotor blades) is attained with which position of the control stick. There are 5 setting points available for this, which can be set independently from one another.
Point 1 stands for the maximum negative pitch value. Point 5 stands for the maximum positive pitch value. The points 2 to 4 have been preset ex works with the values 25
%, 50 %, 75 % and can be set individually. The aerobatic flight pitch curve is activated when you toggle the switch for normal flight/aerobatic flight (Figure 1, Item 19) on
the remote control. To check the set values on the model, the control stick must be positioned according to the selected point on the pitch curve (point 1 = stick all the way
back, point 2 = intermediate position stick all the way to the back/stick in the middle; point 3 = stick middle etc.).
Press the Select button (Figure 3, Item 7) in order to select the point to be set. With the +/- rocker (Figure 3, Item 4), you set the desired value.
For this, please also observe the notices and the table "Basic Aerobatic Flight/Extreme Aerobatic Flight" on page 45.
Function for Constant Speed
Motor speed and pitch are controlled together with one control stick. By means of the mixers and setting functions already described above, you were able to adjust this
interplay of pitch and motor speed. For the flight manoeuvre, "Autorotation" there is the possibility of decoupling the motor from the pitch-axis function and to set the motor
to a constant rotary speed or even to deactivate it completely. The function for constant speed is activated if the switch Th.Hold (Figure 1, Item 5) is toggled. Independent
of this function and the set values, you can also immediately deactivate the motor with the key "Thr.Cut" (Figure 3, Item 8). The motor is deactivated as long as you hold
the key.
After selecting this function, the adjacent display will appear.
With the +/- rocker (Figure 3, Item 4) you activate the function.
Press the Select button (Figure 3, Item 7) in order to access the entry mode.
With the +/- rocker (Figure 3, Item 4) you set the desired value.
As soon as you toggle the switch for the constant motor speed (Figure 1, Item 5), this setting becomes active and via channel 6, only pitch com-
mands are transferred. Depending on the setting, the motor rotates at the preset rotary speed or has been completely deactivated.
Tail Rotor Compensation
With this mixer, a set value is mixed in order to compensate the torque for the tail rotor servo depending on the pitch setting. This function is, however, not relevant for the
model described here as a suitable gyro has also been installed in the helicopter to compensate torque (see the enclosed operating instructions regarding the gyro).
After selecting this function, the adjacent display will appear.
With the +/- rocker (Figure 3, Item 4) you activate the function.
Press the Select button (Figure 3, Item 7) in order to access the entry mode.
Move the right control stick (Figure 1, Item 6) in order to choose between the upper and lower half. The selected range is indicated with an arrow.
With the +/- rocker (Figure 3, Item 4), you set the desired value.
Gyro Setting
A gyro with a heading lock function is installed in your helicopter. By means of the mixer described below and the switch Aux CH 5 (Figure 1, Item 20), you can select three
settings:
Possibility 1:
You use the integrated gyro in normal mode and set different gyro sensitivities with the mixer for two different flight states (e. g. hovering and flight tour). With the position
of the switch Aux CH 5 (Figure 1, Item 20) forward, set a positive value (e. g. +50 %) and with the switch position to the back, set another positive value (e. g. +75 %). In
this way, you can switch between two different gyro sensitivities in flight.
Possibility 2:
You use the built-in gyro in the heading lock mode and with the mixer, set two different gyro sensitivities for two different flight states (e. g. basic aerobatic flight and extreme
