pressure warnings and alarms

The pressure warnings and alarms indicate high and low pressures that are outside of optimal
pressure ranges . The high pressure warning LED illuminates when joint pressure exceeds
180 mmHg for 5 seconds, or when pump pressure exceeds 340 mmHg . A high pressure alarm
sounds if the joint pressure exceeds 300 mmHg for 2 seconds, or when the pump pressure
exceeds 430 mmHg . The low pressure light illuminates if pressure drops below 10 mmHg for
three consecutive seconds .
warning! if water accidentally enters the pressure sensor tubing, change the
inflow tubing and restart the system.

nOte: If the pump has not been primed, (blue Fill Chamber LED is blinking), the low pressure
alarm activates only after the pump pressure drops and remains below 10 mmHg for 3
consecutive seconds.

Table 7. Pressure Alarms

description
If the joint pressure exceeds
180 mmHg for 5 seconds, or if
the pump pressure exceeds 340
mmHg, the High Pressure Warning
Light illuminates (red) .
If the joint pressure exceeds
300 mmHg for 2 seconds, or if
the pump pressure exceeds 430
mmHg, the High Pressure alarm
sounds, and the pump stops .
If the pressure falls below the low-
pressure safety level (10 mmHg)
for three consecutive seconds, the
Low Pressure alarm illuminates
(orange) and the pump stops .
If priming has occurred, and there
is a Low Pressure alarm, follow
the troubleshooting procedures in
Chapter 8 .

Operator action
Decrease pressure in the
joint and let the pump start
automatically . If the pump
does not restart when the
pressure drops below preset
pressure, restart the pump
manually by pressing the
run/stOp pad .
Check that the quick
connector and the filter near
the pressure sensor are
functioning .
If a LOW PRESSURE
ALARM is sounding, filling the
chamber turns off the alarm .
Check connections to the
saline bags, and make sure
the clamp between the bags
and the pressure chamber
is open . If all is satisfactory,
press the run/stOp pad to
restart the pump .
