Connecting the Outflow tubing (duO mode)

The Outflow tubing (Figure 8) enables suction from the joint, either from a cannula or through
a handpiece . The Outflow Tubing for FMS VUE II is designed for DUO Mode operation . It is
not necessary to install the Outflow Tube if operating the pump on SOLO Mode (irrigation and
handpiece control only) .

3 . Prime the intermediary tube by opening the clamp under the
pressure chamber .

Outflow Tubing
To install the Outflow Tube, use aseptic technique .
1 . Remove the Outflow Tubing from the package .
2 . sterile OperatOr – Pass the waste end of the suction tube
to the non-sterile operator (circulating nurse) .
3 . Lift the right pump door and position the orange autolock in the
orange autolock slot on the pump .
4 . Place and center the tube around the roller .
5 . Pull gently on the tube to engage the tube fitting opposite the
auto-lock while maintaining tension on the tube .
CautiOn! make sure the transparent tubing connection
is securely positioned in the auto-lock to avoid damage to the
tubing. make sure tubing is centered in the pump roller groove.
6 . Align the RFID Connector with the Antenna .
7 . Close the right pump door .
8 . Rotate the Pinch Valve to the vertical position to open .
9 . Insert both tubes into the Pinch Valve slots .
10 . Rotate the Pinch Valve to horizontal position to close .
