PC is connected to the machine:
- SAVE RECORD (saves a spot welding operation).
- EXPORT PROGRAMS (exports the CUSTOM programs to an external memory).
- IMPORT PROGRAMS (imports the CUSTOM programs from the external
memory).
- UPDATE FIRMWARE
Note: for a more in-depth description refer to the quick guide for the "MENU"
functions.
6 - "ESC" key:
Use to exit from the active selection and return to the initial display without saving any
modifications that have been made.
ATTENTION! Pressing "ESC" and "MODE" simultaneously when the
machine is started recalls the factory settings; the personalised programs will
be cancelled!
7 - Display:
Shows all the information needed by the user to set spot welding according to the
functions used.
8 - "START" key:
To start the machine for normal operation or after an alarm situation.
NOTE: The display shows the operator, when necessary, that the "START" pushbutton
must be pressed in order to use the machine.
9 - General alarm LED, spot welding LED, recording LED:
Yellow general alarm LED
overvoltage, undervoltage, no phase, no air, no water, accidental spot welding short
circuit alarms cut in.
Red "spot welding" LED
Red "REC" (recording) LED
parameters of the spot to be carried out.
NOTE: The information is ONLY recorded in the USB flash drive.
4.2.2 Pressure adjustment group and manometer (fig. B-9)
Use to adjust the pressure applied at the pneumatic clamp electrodes using the
adjustment knob (only for pneumatic clamps in the "Manual" mode).
4.3 SAFETY AND INTERLOCK FUNCTIONS
4.3.1 Safeguards and alarms (TAB. 1)
a) Thermostatic safeguard:
It cuts in if the spot welder becomes too hot because there is no cooling liquid or if
the liquid flow rate is not sufficient, or if a work cycle exceeds the permitted limit.
on the control panel lights up when this safeguard cuts in.
The yellow LED
The alarm is shown on the display by:
AL 1 = thermal safety alarm.
AL 2 = clamp thermal alarm.
AL 8 = studder thermal alarm.
EFFECT: movement stopped, electrodes opened (cylinder to discharge); current
stopped (welding impeded).
RESET: manual ("START" pushbutton pressed after the limits have returned within
those permitted – the yellow LED
b) Main switch:
- Position "O" = open and lockable (see chapter 1).
WARNING! The internal terminals (L1+L2+L3) for connecting the power cable
are live when the main switch is at "O".
- Position "I" = off: spot welder powered but not operating (STAND BY –the
"START" pushbutton needs to be pressed).
- Emergency function
While the spot welder is operating, opening (pos. " I "=>pos "O" ) determines a
stop in safety conditions:
- current inhibited;
- electrode opening (cylinder to discharge);
- automatic restarting inhibited.
WARNING! PERIODICALLY MAKE SURE THE SAFETY STOP IS
OPERATING CORRECTLY
c) Compressed air safety
Activates if the compressed air pressure (p < 3bar) drops or is absent;
The intervention is signalled on the display by AL 6 = no air alarm.
EFFECT: movement stopped, electrodes opened (cylinder to discharge); current
stopped (welding impeded).
RESETTING: manual ("START" pushbutton pressed) after returning within the
permitted pressure limits (manometer indicates >3bar).
d) Output short circuit safety (only pneumatic clamp)
Before starting the welding cycle, the machine checks that the poles (positive and
negative) of the secondary welding circuit have no accidental contact points.
The intervention is signalled on the display as AL 9 = output short circuit alarm
EFFECT: movement stopped, electrodes opened (cylinder to discharge); current
stopped (welding impeded).
RESETTING: manual ("START" pushbutton pressed after having removed the
cause of the short circuit).
e) No phase safeguard
The intervention is signalled on the display by AL 11 = no phase alarm.
EFFECT: movement stopped, electrodes opened (cylinder to discharge); current
stopped (welding impeded).
RESETTING: manual ("START" pushbutton pressed).
f) Undervoltage and overvoltage safeguard
Intervention is signalled on the display by AL 3 = overvoltage alarm and by AL 4 =
undervoltage alarm.
EFFECT: movement stopped, electrodes opened (cylinder to discharge); current
stopped (welding impeded).
RESETTING: manual ("START" pushbutton pressed).
g) "START" pushbutton (Fig. C-8).
It must be pressed to command welding in each of these conditions:
- each time the main switch is closed (pos "O"=>pos " I ");
- after the safety/protective devices cut in;
- after the power supplies (electricity and compressed air) that were previously
interrupted because of upstream disconnection or failure have returned.
WARNING! PERIODICALLY MAKE SURE THE SAFETY STOP IS
OPERATING CORRECTLY
