10.3 Planar surface gantry module with rack and pinion axis and pneumatic gripper

The pneumatic gripper (4) of the planar surface gantry (2) grasps the workpiece from the conveyor (3).
In Receiving mode, the planar surface gantry transports the workpiece to the closest empty rack on the
respective storage level (1) depending on the measurement result. In Issue mode, the workpiece is
transported to a downstream station upon receipt of a material requisition.
Linear motion of the planar surface gantry is driven by electric valve actuators that are operated by a
controller.
