Frequently Asked Ques-
tions (FAQ)
Questions on the sintering bowl and sintering
cover
Question: After the sintering run, there is break-
age at the bowl and/or the cover?
Answer: It is no longer required to reduce the
pearls at the bowl edge through an instrument.
Twisting down the bowl into the pearls several
times is definitely required, in order to loosen up
the bed of pearls at the edge. Otherwise, there is
acute danger of breakage of the parts! When the
cover is merely pressed into the pearls (and not
twisted down), the pressure can lead to damage.
Question: There is breakage/a crack in the com-
ponents even though the cover was twisted prop-
erly into the pearls?
Answer: Check amount of pearls! There may
never be more than the supplied 150 g of pearls
filled in, in order not to additionally increase the
pressure on the parts.
Question: After the first few sintering runs, the
black bowls already show whitish streaks on the
surface?
Answer: Whitish coverings/coatings on the SiC
bowl parts are normal and can be blasted off if
required (max. 50 μm glass pearls). The sintering
bowl parts have been blasted off at the factory
with aluminium corundum. Maintenance of the
parts is not required.
