• Switch off the engine and make the mixture thinner by turning the screw clockwise by 1/16 of a turn.
• Restart the engine and repeat this process until the transition from idle to full throttle is smooth and fast. A small
delay is normal.
• Drive the engine as usual in order to ascertain how to the engine reacts to changes in the throttle.
• Change the settings until the desired performance is reached.
After changing the settings, you may need to readjust the throttle stop and mixture adjustment screw/main
nozzle needle.
The idle mixture adjustment screw is configured correctly when the engine runs at the same speed when
the vehicle is stationary.
If the speed is higher (and the engine switches off), the mixture is too lean.
If the speed drops slowly (the engine may stop), the mixture is too oily.
Adjusting the throttle stop screw (idle adjustment screw)
The idle adjustment screw regulates the idle speed via the position of the carburettor valve (the throttle stop). The
larger the carburettor outlet, the higher the speed.
• Turn the screw clockwise to make the outlet larger.
• Turn the screw anticlockwise to draw in the valve and make the outlet smaller.
As with the other settings, the screw must be moved by 1/16 turn each time. Remember all settings so that you can
restore the previous setting if necessary.
