Carburettor components:
A = Mixture adjustment screw (main nozzle needle)
The mixture adjustment screw is located above the fuel connection (B)
and regulates the air/fuel mix at full throttle.
Turn the screw clockwise to the right (see right-hand diagram, direction
of rotation = "-") to make the mixture leaner (decrease the fuel content).
Turn the screw anticlockwise to the left ("+") to make the mixture more
oily (increase the fuel content).
The default setting can be configured by turning the screw so that it is
level with the edge of the nozzle holder (screw does not protrude from
the edge or sit deep inside the nozzle holder).
B = Fuel inlet for tank
This inlet is connected to the tank via a hose. The tank contains a tank pendulum or other similar object to ensure that
the fuel is always drawn in from the lowest level in the tank. This allows the vehicle to run until the tank is almost empty.
C = Throttle stop screw (idle adjustment screw)
The throttle stop screw is the small screw below the air intake opening (3). It regulates
the position of the carburettor valve (the throttle stop) and thus the carburettor outlet
when the engine is idle.
Turning the adjustment screw to the right (clockwise, see right-hand diagram, direc-
tion of rotation = "+") increases the size of the opening and the engine speed. Turning
the screw to the left (anticlockwise, "-") closes the valve and decreases the opening
and the engine speed.
As a basic setting, we recommend a carburettor outlet of approximately 1–1.5 mm.
D = Connection to the engine
At this point, the carburettor is connected to the combustion engine and the fuel-air mix is transferred to the combus-
tion chamber.
E = Idle mixture adjustment screw
The idle mixture adjustment screw is the small screw on the side of
the carburettor linkage. It regulates the air/fuel mix when the engine is
idle and during the transition to full throttle.
Turn the screw clockwise to the right (see right-hand diagram, direc-
tion of rotation = "-") to make the mixture leaner (decrease the fuel
content).
Turn the screw anticlockwise to the left ("+") to make the mixture more
oily (increase the fuel content).
To restore factory settings, fully open the carburettor valve.
Keep the valve open and turn the idle mixture adjustment screw clockwise as far as it will go. Turn the screw 7.5 turns
anticlockwise to unscrew it again.
