13-2-5. Adjusting the driving knife operating position

The standard distance from the left side of driving knife arm
A q to the screw tip on the plunger w of the thread trimming
solenoid is 2 mm.
The clearance between the outermost side (right side) of the
thread trimmer cam e and the roller r of the driving knife
arm should be 0.1 mm.
1. Tilt back the machine head.
2. Loosen the bolt t.
3. Turn the plunger w of the thread trimming solenoid so that
the distance from the left side of driving knife arm A q to the
screw tip on the plunger w of the thread trimming solenoid is
2 mm, and then tighten the bolt t.
4. Loosen the bolt y.
5. Set the plunger w to the position where it projects as far as
possible to the left.
6. Turn the machine pulley to move the roller r of the driving
knife arm to the outermost side (right side) of the thread trim-
mer cam e.
7. Move the roller r so that the clearance between the outer-
most side (right side) of the thread trimmer cam e and the
roller r is 0.1 mm, and then tighten the bolt y.

Refer to the following when adjusting the operating position for
the left driving knife.
The standard distance between the solenoid setting plate i
and the thread trimmer solenoid arm o is 24 mm when the
plunger u of the thread trimmer solenoid is extended to the
left as far as it will go.
Set the clearance between the outermost side (left side) of
the rim of the thread trimmer cam ! 0 and the roller ! 1 of the
driving knife arm to 0.1 mm.
1. Tilt back the machine head.
2. Loosen the bolt !2 .
3. Move the plunger u so that it is extended to the left as far as
it will go.
4. Turn the plunger u so that the distance between the sole-
noid setting plate i and the thread trimmer solenoid arm o
is 24 mm, and then tighten the bolt !2 .
5. Loosen the bolt !3 .
6. Move the plunger u once more so that it is extended to the
left as far as it will go.
7. Turn the machine pulley to move the roller !1 of the driving
knife arm to the outermost side (left side) of the rim of the
thread trimmer cam ! 0 .
8. Move the roller !1 so that the clearance between the outer-
most side (left side) of the rim of the thread trimmer cam !0
and the roller !1 is 0.1 mm, and then tighten the bolt !3 .
