VEHICLE CONFIGURATION
SETTING DESCRIPTION
IGNITION TYPE OR NUMBER OF CYLINDERS (Fig. 3)
This indicates to the GALILEO E.C.U. the type of signal carried by the BROWN wire, so that it is possible
to correctly read the engine RPM.
4 CYLINDERS
For four cylinder engines if the BROWN wire is connected to:
- tachometer signal (regardless of the type of ignition);
- coil negative, only with coil and distributor ignition.
5 CYLINDERS
For five cylinder engines if the BROWN wire is connected to:
- tachometer signal (regardless of the type of ignition);
- coil negative, only with coil and distributor ignition.
6 CYLINDERS
For six cylinder engines if the BROWN wire is connected to:
- tachometer signal (regardless of the type of ignition);
- coil negative, only with coil and distributor ignition.
8 CYLINDERS
For eight cylinder engines if the BROWN wire is connected to:
- tachometer signal (regardless of the type of ignition);
- coil negative, only with coil and distributor ignition.
DUAL COIL
For engines with one coil for every two spark plugs, if the BROWN
wire is connected to the negative of one of the coils.
SINGLE COIL FOR CYLINDER
For engines with one coil for each cylinder, if the BROWN wire is
connected to the negative of one of the coils.
TYPE OF RPM SIGNAL (Fig. 4)
STANDARD
Select this function when the BROWN wire is connected to one of the
following signals:
- RPM wire with 0÷12 V square wave signal;
- coil negative.
WEAK SIGNAL
Select this option when the BROWN wire is connected to one of the
following signals:
- RPM wire with 0÷5 V square wave signal;
- static ignition control with 0÷5 V square wave signal.
