6.2 Measure a grab sample
The analyzer can measure a water sample that is added to the overflow vessel. Make sure that the
specifications of the water sample are as follows:
• Sodium concentration
cationic pump: 20 ppb to 200 ppm.
• pH—Analyzers without cationic pump: 6 to 10 pH; Analyzers with cationic pump: 2 to 10 pH
6
• Temperature
—5 to 45 °C (41 to 113 °F)
• Acidity (equivalent CaCO
a cationic pump: less than 250 ppm
• Suspended solids—Less than 2 NTU with no oil or grease
Measure a water sample as follows:
1. Collect a minimum of 200 mL of a water sample in a clean container.
2. Push menu, then select GRAB SAMPLE/VERIFICATION.
3. Select GRAB SAMPLE, then push enter.
4
The pH value does not show if the optional cationic pump is installed.
5
A grab sample that has a sodium concentration of less than 20 ppb is not recommended.
6
For the best accuracy (± 5% from 20 ppb to 10 ppm), make sure that the grab sample is at the
same temperature (± 5 °C) as the calibration standard used for calibration.
Table 4 Measurement data descriptions
Description
The time the last measurement was completed.
The last channel measured.
The time the next measurement will be completed.
The next channel to be measured.
The temperature of the channel in use.
The flow rate of the channel in use.
The sodium concentration of the last channel measured.
The sodium concentration of the channel in use.
The real time mV signal. The potential between the two electrodes.
The six second average (approximately) of the mV signal.
Identifies if the measurement is stable (0 to 100). The larger the
value, the more stable the measurement.
The adjusted pH of the channel in use.
The conductivity of the channel in use.
The time for gas (conditioning solution) during pH conditioning.
The time for water (sample) during pH conditioning.
