Description of operation

4.1

Mechanical functions

The ELADOS
frequency convertor for use in commercial application.
The pump is designed to meter clean, non-abrasive metering media.
An eccentric worm gear (Item 4) moves the diaphragm (Item 2) and conveys the metering
medium via the pressure valve (Item 1). The suction valve (Item 5) is closed.
The diaphragm is reset by a return spring (Item 3). As a result, the metering medium is
sucked into the pump head via the suction valve. The pressure valve is closed.
The suction and metering stroke can be set at different lengths through the combination of
the integrated frequency convertor and corresponding control electronics.
The duration of the metering stroke and thus the metering quantity can be set within a range
of 1-100, whereby the suction stroke duration remains unchanged. If an appropriate length of
metering stroke duration is selected, metering which is virtually pulsation-free can be
achieved.
4.2

Electronic functions

The pump is operated via four pushbuttons (Fig. 5.2, pos. 8, 9, 10, 11). The metering quantity
currently set is shown in % via an 8-segment display (Fig. 5.2, pos. 1).
4.2.1

Operating mode

The pump can be used in two different operating modes:
INTERNAL Manual metering quantity setting (factory setting), metering release by an
EXTERNAL Variation in the metering quantity via an external standard signal
4.2.2

Metering modes

By selecting different metering modes, the motor speed and thus the suction speed can be
flexibly adapted to high product viscosities or difficult suction conditions.

low / high
