7 Maintenance (3150, 3150V 3400)
7.1 Monthly and before use check (general visual check) Examine the mask
and check it according to the table here above. Use the same procedure for
monthly check. If the mask has any of these defects, it must not be used before
the faulty parts are replaced.
7.2 Replacing parts
7.2.1 Replacing the head harness The head harness has 5 adjuster straps and
is made of rubber. Replace it if there is any sign of splitting. To do this, pull the
straps out through buckles. Once you have freed all of the straps, fit the new
headpiece by passing the straps through the buckles and making sure they are
fitted securely.
7.2.2 Replacing the visor If the visor is accidentally broken, first remove it
from the head harness and from the buckles (for this operation see the previous
paragraph 7.3.2). Then use a screwdriver to unscrew the bolt from the nut and
open the clip. When reassembling, be particularly careful that the face seal and
clamping band are centred on the visor.
7.2.3 Replacing the membranes To replace the membranes extract them pulling
toward oneself. After removing the membranes, replace them with new ones,
putting them in the respective housing hole, keeping attention to put them in right
position and checking that the membrane's surface is free to move.
7.2.4 Mask efficiency test The test must be carried out with an appropriate
device according to the requirements of the EN 136 standard. This device can be
made of an inflatable rubber head, a connection for the facepiece, a connecting
hose, a cap to close the inhalation valve and an appropriate test device to make
and control positive and negative pressure inside of the mask. If you don't have
a test device of this kind it is necessary to contact BLS for the components
replacement and the tightness test.
7.3 Storage It is advisable to keep new facepieces in their original packing in a
ventilated stock room, away from sun, heat and contaminants. Storage must be
carried between -10 °C and + 50 °C with a relative humidity < 80%. The BLS full
face masks if unused and properly stored can be used within 10 (ten) years. For
the transport of the masks use the original packaging.

9.1 Monthly and before use check (general visual check) Examine the mask
and check it according to the table here above. Use the same procedure for
monthly check. If the mask has any of these defects, it must not be used before
the faulty parts are replaced.
9.2 Replacing parts
9.2.1 Replacing the inner mask with relative membranes and membrane
holders To replace the inner mask equipped with relative membrane holders
and inhalation membranes, first pull down the locking ring of the inner mask to
release the inner mask, then remove the inner mask from its housing, unthreading
the edges from the inner connection. Replace the inner mask with the new one,
positioning the edges of the hole in the in the fitting groove of the inner connection,
pulling down again the locking ring, then checking the right assembling of the
membrane holders equipped with the valves.
9.2.2 Replacing the head harness The head harness has 6 adjuster straps and
is made of rubber. Replace it if there is any sign of splitting. To do this, pull the
straps out through buckles. Once you have freed all of the straps, fit the new
headpiece by passing the straps through the buckles and making sure they are
fitted securely.
9.2.3 Replacing the Visor If is accidentally broken, first remove it from the head
harness and from the buckles (for this operation see the previous paragraph
9.3.2). Then use a screwdriver to unscrew the bolt from the nut and open the clip.
When reassembling, be particularly careful that the face seal and clamping band
are centred on the visor. Do this by lining up one end with the central mark on the
face seal before tightening the bolt.
9.2.4 Replacing the inhalation membrane
To replace the inhalation membranes on the two lateral filter holders extract
them pulling toward oneself. After removing the membranes, replace them with
new ones, putting them in the respective housing hole, keeping attention to put
them in right position and checking that the membrane's surface is free to move.
Reassemble the inner mask in the reverse order.
9.2.5 Mask efficiency test The test must be carried out with an appropriate
device according to the requirements of the EN 136 standard. This device can be
made of an inflatable rubber head, a connection for the facepiece, a connecting
hose, a cap to close the inhalation valve and an appropriate test device to make
and control positive and negative pressure inside of the mask. If you don't have
