This test allows to check the Lambda probe efficiency and the correct
functioning of the injection unit being connected to the probe.

The analyser is equipped with an electronic protection to prevent wrong
connections from damaging it.
9.1 - Analysis
This test allows to check the Lambda probe efficiency.
In the tested car the Lambda probe type and the relative connection wiring
must be checked before carrying out any other operation.
At present different sorts of Lambda probe are used that can be divided
basically into the two following typologies: 1 Volt probe and 5 Volt probe
that can be heated (usually with 3 or 4 wires) and non heated
(usually with 1 or 2 wires).
When using a heated probe, it is necessary to previously check the
resistance and the relative supply with a common multimeter, whereas when
using a lambda probe without heating resistance the signal can be checked
immediately.
After pointing out the kind of probe, prepare the connection being suitable
to this aim for the kind of tested vehicle (see chapter 2.0).
The connections can be made with the equipment being either on or off;
however the analyser has to be started in order to prepare the test.
