5 Troubleshooting

5.1 Troubleshooting Table

SYMPTOMS
Ceiling hoist does not respond to the hand
control's buttons and up/down buttons on the
ceiling hoist are not responding.
Ceiling hoist does not respond to the hand
control's buttons, but up/down buttons on the
ceiling hoist are responding.
Lifting straps will only move down and not up.
Lifting straps will only move up and not down.
Ceiling hoist speed is the same with and without
load.
Lifting straps are twisted and do not straighten
out.

PROBLEM
Emergency stop activated
System does not have power or battery is
discharged
Fuse is blown
Hand control not connected properly
Hand control defective
Battery nearly discharged
Load is too high
Hand control defective
The loose strap function activated
Non-load quick movement function activated
permanently
Lifting hooks do not turn freely enough
Straps are frayed
SOLUTION
Reset the emergency stop. (Refer to user
manual)
Charge the battery or use the emergency
battery. Refer to 4.1 Charging the Battery, page
20.
Replace the fuse. Refer to 3.8 Replacing the
fuse, page 15.
Check that the hand control cable is properly
plugged into the hoist. Refer to 3.3 Replacing
the hand control, page 12.
Replace the hand control. Refer to 3.3 Replacing
the hand control, page 12.
Charge the battery or use the emergency
battery. Refer to 4.1 Charging the Battery, page
20.
Reduce the load. The hoist is equipped with an
over-current safety system.
Replace the hand control. Refer to 3.3 Replacing
the hand control, page 12.
Check the loose strap function. Refer to 5.3
Checking Loose Strap Function, page 26.
Check the quick movement switch. Refer to 5.4
Checking Twin Speed Functionality, page 26.
Clean the hooks or replace the straps.
Replace the straps. Refer to3.5 Replacing Strap
and Hook Assemblies, page 12.
