3.2 Troubleshooting
Refer to this chapter if there are any anomalies not indicated by alarms on the driving system display
.
DANGER
Whenever any malfunction or damage to the system is detected, stop sailing immediately, take the boat to a safe
place and contact ULTRAFLEX Technical Service.
WARNING
Whenever the following checks need the removal and/or disassembly of the steering system components, such
operation must be carried by specialized staff. ULTRAFLEX offers general information only and is not responsible
for any consequences resulting from incorrect disassembly.
PROBLEM
The system is very difficult
to fill.
Air keeps bubbling at the top
of the steering system tank
even after filling the system
completely.
Oil leaks from steering sys-
tem control unit or hydraulic
cylinders.

When turning the steering
wheel to STARBOARD, the boat
turns to the left and viceversa.
The control panel does not
start
The engine does not steer but
the control panel display is
switched on.
CAUSE
• Incorrect hose assembly
• Low oil level
• Leaks from the cylinder
bleeder.
• Coiled hose.
• Bad tightening or low torque
of the fittings.
• Too high oil level.
• Incorrect power unit installation • Install it properly.
• Hoses between the power unit
and the cylinder (Kit OB SVS) are
reversed.
• Check the battery cut-off switches.
• Check the key contacts.
• The control panel is damaged
and/or disconnected.
• Check the automatic switch for
the engine.
SOLUTION
• Install hoses properly; repeat the bleed-
ing procedure of the system.
• Add oil in the tank to the maximum level
• Tighten the bleeder on the cylinder.
• Uncoil and straighten the hose. Replace
it, if necessary.
• Tighten the fittings with a maximum
torque of 20Nm (15 in.Ibs).
• Tighten the plug.
• Restore the correct level.
• Reverse hoses
• Check the battery charge.
• Check all connections.
• Check any damage on the cables.
• Reset the switch, In case of an imme-
diate or additional short circuit, search
for a pinched or shorted cable or a failed
component.
