PROBLEM
1.
Pilot lamp off..
Key is in ACC (1) position, engine
stopped.
2.
Starter motor not working:
2.1 Key in START (ON) position and pilot
lamp on
2.2 Key in START (ON) position and pilot
lamp flashing
3.
Engine does not start.
Key in START (ON) position
4.
Starting is difficult or the engine
runs erratically.
Key in ACC (1) or REVERSE MOWING
(R) and engine running.
5.
Reduced engine performance
during cutting. Key in ACC (1) or
REVERSE MOWING (R) and engine
running.
6.
The engine stops but the light
flashes. Key in ACC (1) or REVERSE
MOWING (R) and engine running.
7.
The engine stops and the light
goes off.
Key in ACC (1) or REVERSE MOWING
(R) and engine running.
8.
The engine stops but the light
stays on. Key in ACC (1) or REVERSE
MOWING (R) and engine running.
9.
If you place the machine in reverse
gear when cutting, the engine
stops
10. Uneven cut and poor grass
collection.

11. The blade does not engage or
does not stop promptly when it is
disengaged. Key in ACC (1) or

12. Erratic forward movement, poor
drive when going uphill or
machine has a tendency to rear

13. Unusual vibrations while working.

13. TROUBLESHOOTING
POSSIBLE CAUSES
a) badly connected battery
b) completely flat battery
c) fuse blown
d) circuit board wet
a) insufficiently charged battery
b) fuse blown
c) badly earthed
Starting conditions not met
a) no fuel supply
b) faulty ignition
Carburetion fault
Forward speed too high in relation to cutting
height
The safety devices cut in
a) flat battery
b) badly connected battery
Problems in the engine
Key in position (1)
a) cutting deck not parallel to the ground
b) blade cutting badly
c) high ground speed
d) engine rpm too low
e) cutting deck is full of grass
Problems with the electromagnetic clutch
engagement
a) problems with the transmission belt
tension
b) transmission problems
a) the blade is not balanced or is loose
b) blade shaft not aligned
c) fastenings loose
d) cutting deck is obstructed
SOLUTION
Put the key in the OFF position and look for the
cause of the fault:
a) check connections
b) recharge battery or clean contacts
c) replace fuse (5A) (page 32)
d) dry with air
a) recharge battery
b) replace fuse (100A) (page 32)
c) check connections
Check that the conditions for starting are met
(page 29)
a) – check fuel level
– open fuel stop-cock
– check fuel filter
b) – check that spark plug cap is firmly fitted
– check that the electrodes are clean and correctly
spaced
– clean or replace air filter
– empty fuel tank and refill with new fuel
– check fuel filter and replace if necessary
– clean carburettor tray
Reduce the forward speed and/or raise the cutting
deck
Check that the conditions for starting are met
(page 29)
Put the key in the OFF position and look for the
cause of the fault:
a) recharge battery
b) check connections
Contact an Authorised Service Centre
Place the key in position (R)
a) check tyre pressures
b) contact an Authorised Service Centre
c) reduce forward speed and/or raise the cutting
deck
d) contact an Authorised Service Centre
e) check the grass duct
Contact an Authorised Service Centre
Contact an Authorised Service Centre
a) contact an Authorised Service Centre
b) contact an Authorised Service Centre
c) check and tighten all fastening screws and bolts
on the engine and the machine
d) remove the grass-catcher, empty the collector
channel and clean the inside of the cutting deck
