E. JOYSTICK ASSEMBLY
1. INTEGRAL JOYSTICK ASSEMBLY VSI
A– On/off switch
This key switches your wheelchair on and off. Do not use this switch to stop the wheel-
chair: Except in an emergency.
B– Battery charge indicator
This is a row of 10 LED and indicates to you that the wheelchair is switched on and shows
you the current charge status of the batteries. In addition this display is used for fault
diagnosis. This is described in the user instructions for your wheelchair.
C–Speed preset
This shows the selected speed level of your wheelchair.
D– Reducing the maximum speed: Pressing this key reduces the maximum attainable
speed, corresponding to the LED's on the display.
E– Increasing the maximum speed: Pressing this key increases the maximum attain-
able speed, corresponding to the LED's on the display.
F– Horn
G– Joystick
H– Joystick Boot
Make sure the boot is not torn or cracked (this could allow debris, water or moisture to
enter). If the boot is tom or cracked, replace it as soon as you can.
Light unit
This is only applicable if your joystick has keys for lights, indicators (right, left) and the
hazard warning lights. Pressing the key switches the function on, pressing it again switches
the function off.
2. PILOT+ WHEELCHAIR CONTROL WITH SEPARATE POWER MODULE
The operating pod is connected to a controller, which controls the chair. The operating pod
unit is made up of the following components:

The current design may vary depending on the specification of the wheelchair.
Most operating pods are as follows:
A– On/off switch
This key switches your wheelchair on and off. Do not use this key to stop the wheelchair:
Except in an emergency.
B– Charge status indicator
This is a row of 10 LED and indicates to you that the wheelchair is switched on and shows
you the current charge status of the batteries. In addition this display is used for fault
diagnosis. This is described in the user instructions for your wheelchair.
C– Joystick
This is used to control the direction and speed of your wheelchair. The further you push the
joystick, the faster your wheelchair will go. As soon as you let go of the joystick, the
wheelchair will stop and the automatic brakes will take effect.
