Performing a measurement with
an OTU-8000 and Optical
Remote Switch(es)
To perform a measurement on a fiber:
1 Click on Measurement, in the left menu.
2 Configure the measurement parameters as seen in
3 Click on Start to launch the measurement.
Once the measurement is completed, the corresponding trace is
displayed.

The status Available is displayed in the configuration box.
If the test or measurement has not been completed successfully, a
failure status is displayed and no trace is visible.
Once the OTU-8000 is correctly configured with the Remote Optical
Switch, you can perform a measurement on fibers.
1 Click on Measurement, in the left menu.
2 In the field Optical Path:
a Select the OTU and the Remote Optical Switch(es) for the
measurement by clicking on the corresponding checkboxes on
the right.
b For OTU and Remote Switch, select from the list the output
switch (the input switch is set to 01 by default and must be kept)
3 Configure the other measurement parameters as wished (see
page 54).
4 Once all parameters are correctly defined, press S
the measurement.
