PAR. 7
Correct installation is very important for successful use and proper operation of the autoclave.
The following procedure should be followed.
1.
The device must be installed inside a laboratory that is only accessible to authorised personnel.
2.
The room in which the autoclave is installed must comply with current work place illumination
regulations.
3.
Position the device on a flat and level surface that can support at least 100 Kg.
4.
The levelling of the autoclave is performed at the manufacturer's premises of MEDILINE ITALIA
S.r.l. by positioning the autoclave on a flat horizontal surface. The sterilisation chamber leans
slightly backwards. Pour half a glass of distilled water into the chamber; water must flow
towards the bottom of chamber. If not adjust both front feet to set the proper autoclave level.
5.
Leave at least 5 cm between the radiator located on the rear part of the unit and the wall.
6.
Position the autoclave at a height so the operator can check the whole sterilisation chamber and carry
out normal cleaning operations.
7.
The room where the unit is installed must be adequately ventilated.
8.
Install the autoclave as far as possible from places from which water can be splashed as the
equipment's housing is not waterproof.
9.
Do not place trays, papers, fluid containers, etc. on the unit as the aeration grids must be free and clear
at all times.
10. Do not lean on the opened door.
11. Do not install the device near to sources of heat (e.g. Bunsen burners); maintain a minimum clearance
of 40 cm.
12. Install the device in such a way as to avoid excessive bending of the power cord.
13. Make sure the waste water outlet to be at least 10cm lower than the autoclave rest.
14. The autoclave is designed for use with a (WATER CLEAN) demineraliser. See paragraph 8 for
instructions.
15. Make sure the electrical system to which the device is connected complies with the laws in force and
that its power is suitable for the equipment; see PAR.3 of this manual.
16. Plug the unit to a socket meeting with the specifications mentioned in paragraph 3 of this manual and on
the labels at the back of the unit. Never use power extensions
17. The autoclave must only be used for the sterilisation of instruments, as indicated in PAR. 10 (Sterilisation table).
WARNING NOTES REGARDING PRESSURIZED CONTAINER.
The pressurized container (the sterilisation chamber) is a part of the autoclave. In addition to the installation
procedures to follow in Par.7, the following warning notes must be followed:
1) Position the autoclave so that its safety valve (at the rear of the autoclave) discharges in an area not
easily accessed by staff.
2) Any work on the safety valve must be carried out only by authorised personnel or persons so
authorised by Mediline Italia S.r.l.
To keep the pressurized contain in top condition, the following warning notes must be observed, in addition
to normal maintenance work described in Par.15:
1) Do not damage the sterilisation chamber with tools or instruments.
2) Do not permit any corrosive liquids or substances to get into the sterilisation chamber.
