9.5 Extending PP 45 ventilation unit with
PP 45 SE sound-absorbing elements
Sound reduction
● 1x PP 45 SE: 1,5 ... 2 dB(A).
● 2x PP 45 SE (2nd PP 45 SE turned 45°):
2.5 ... 5 dB(A)
* If two sound-absorbing elements are instal-
led, we recommend turning them 45° away
from each other. This increases the sound
insulation effect.
Install PP 45 SE: Step
1. Take PP 45 SE out of the film and open it
carefully.
2. Remove and dispose of core.
3. Carefully close PP 45 again.
4. Slide the slide-in module (PP 45 O/K/RC),
inside the sleeve, as far as possible out-
wards (towards the outer wall). NOTICE:
Connecting cable must not be installed
tautly.
5. Insert PP 45 SE elements into the wall
sleeve. When doing so, guide the
to
connecting cable [9] of the slide-in module
through one or several PP 45 SE. Then
cut PP 45 SE to a suitable length with a
knife or scissors.
9.6 Connecting room air controls
RLS 45 O and RLS 45 K controls
i
with 230 V. Note safety requirements
in Chapter 9.3.
Wired systems
An RLS 45 O or RLS 45 K master room air
control can have a maximum of 3 further
power units and/or slave room air controls of
a similar design added to it.
A maximum of 4 control units can therefore be
deployed in a PP 45 ventilation system.
You can only combine room air con-
i
trols of the same type (either RLS 45 O
or RLS 45 K).
All other room air controls/power units are
connected via the RS 485 interface.
If further room air controls are connec-
i
ted, these must be defined as slaves in
service mode operating instructions
or installation instructions.
The relevant ventilation units are connected
to the relevant room air controls/power units.
The ventilation units on an RLS 45 O/K are
generally connected directly to the Fan1 or
Fan2 terminal block.
Radio-controlled systems
Radio-controlled ventilation units are operated
by the DS 45 RC radio switch, which can be
used to control all wireless ventilation units in
range.
Alternatively, an RLS 45 K control with PP 45 EO
extension module can also be used. With this
device combination, radios can be coupled
with wired units.
Connections
For possible combinations Chapter 8.
To install the room air control, we always recom-
mend using a deep recessed-mounted box.
