AF AUXILIARY LIGHT
If the autofocus measuring system of a camera
cannot focus because of insufficient ambient
brightness, the AF auxiliary light
flash unit can be activated. This projects a striped
pattern onto the subject that the camera then uses
for focusing.
The AF auxiliary light can be switched on or off with
the
The range is approx. 6-9m (with a standard lens
1.7/50mm). Because of the parallax between the
lens and AF auxiliary light in the flash unit, the
minimum focusing distance with AF auxiliary light is
approx. 0.7-1m.
Autofocus mode "Single AF" ("S-AF") must be set on
the camera and the flash unit must be ready to flash
so that the AF auxiliary light can be activated by the
camera.

• Some camera types support only the camera's
• Zoom lenses with a low initial aperture opening
