FLASH READINESS DISPLAY

• When the fl ash capacitor is charged, the button
12 on the fl ash unit lights up in green and displays
that the fl ash is ready.
This means that the fl ash can be used for the next
shot. Flash readiness is also transmitted to the
camera and ensure the relevant display in the camera
viewfi nder.
If a shot is taken before the display for fl ash readiness
appears in the display, the fl ash is not triggered. The
shot may have the wrong exposure if the camera has
already switched to fl ash synchronization time
p. 84).

CORRECT EXPOSURE DISPLAY

• When the exposure is correct, the
lights up in red for approx. 3 seconds if the shot
has been exposed correctly in the fl ash modes
(see p. 62) or automatic mode (see p. 63)!
If there is no correct exposure display after the
photograph has been taken, the shot was
underexposed.
In this case, you must:
– set the next lowest f-stop (e.g. f-stop 8 instead of
f-stop 11) and/or
– reduce the distance to the subject or the refl ecting
surface (e.g. when using indirect fl ash) and/or
– set a higher ISO rating on the camera.

DISPLAYS ON YOUR FLASH UNIT
Most cameras transmit the ratings for ISO lens focal
length (mm) and f-stop to the fl ash unit. This
automatically adjusts the necessary settings. It
calculates the maximum range of the fl ash light from
the ratings and its guide number.
The fl ash mode, range and zoom position of the
refl ector are displayed on the fl ash unit.
If the fl ash unit is operated without data being
received from the camera, the values set on the fl ash
unit are displayed.
Note:
After a quick fl ash burst, the device can become so
hot that it automatically switches off temporarily to
cool down. In such a case, a temperature warning
symbol appears.
Display light
After the button 13 on the fl ash unit has been
pressed or after the touch display has been touched,
the display light is set to maximum brightness for
approx. 10s.
