Range indicator in manual flash mode
In manual flash mode (see p. 65) the distance value
that must be adhered to to ensure correct flash
exposure of the subject is shown in the display. You
can adjust to the photography situation in question by
changing the lens aperture or choosing manual partial
light output (see p. 65).
Exceeding the display range
Ranges of up to 99m or 99ft are shown in the display.
With high ISO ratings and large f-stop apertures the
display range can be exceeded.
• This is indicated by an arrow behind the distance
value.

Examples of displays in the camera viewfinder:
• Flash symbol flashing
Request to use or switch in the flash unit.
• Flash symbol lights up
Flash unit is ready to flash.

Basics on incorrect exposure:
– In the case of overexposure: Do not use the flash!
– In the case of underexposure: Switch on the flash
or use a tripod or a longer exposure time.
In the various exposure and automatic programs there
may be various reasons for incorrect exposure.
