1 - Stop the machine releasing the forward pedal Detail 1 Fig. 7.
2 - Press the brake pedal firmly.
3 - Switch the engine off by turning the ignition key Detail 10 Fig. 8 to OFF. The engine can also be switched off simply by lifting
yourself from the driver's seat.
4 - After collecting any of the materials mentioned above, clean the hopper wearing gloves and a mask to protect the airways, in
any case observing the instructions in the paragraph "Debris hopper".
CHAPTER 18 - TROUBLESHOOTING
There are essentially two problems that may arise with AKS 88|VDM 180 series sweepers, i.e.: the machine produces dust during
operation, or it leaves debris on the floor; there can be many causes, but with careful use and good routine maintenance these problems
will not arise:
FAULTS
The machine produces dust.
The machine leaves debris on the floor.
The Diesel engine is not performing at its
best.
The machine does not start.
YOU MUST:
CAUSES
Suction closed.
Clogged filter.
Damaged filter.
Filter assembled incorrectly.
Damaged side washers.
Continuous use of the side broom.
The central broom is not adjusted properly,
or it is worn out.
You have collected wires, cords etc...
Damaged side washers.
The hopper is full.
Dirty engine air filter.
Dirty fuel filter cartridge.
The seat - hood safety switches are not
closed properly or do not work.
REMEDIES
Turn the suction switch Detail 10 Fig. 8 ON.
Clean it by "shaking" it with suitable tools
and if necessary remove it and clean it
thoroughly.
Replace it.
Assemble it with its gasket and make sure it
is installed correctly and firmly with the
relevant stops.
Replace them.
Only use the side broom for cleaning edges,
profiles, corners.
Adjust the central broom and check its
"track".
Remove them.
Replace them.
Empty it out.
Clean or replace it.
Replace it.
Close properly or replace the micro switch.
