Reworking profile slugs

When the door is closed, the latch bolt, control latch and door contact must slide over a level surface
("Self-locking", page 50). with some door frames, such as those with thermal isolation, a profile slug
(Fig. 16 –
1
) which has a disruptive effect on the sliding surface may be present. This profile slug must be
removed in the area of the latch and the control latch. ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH recommends
using a sliding piece (–

) in order to create a level sliding surface.
1
Cover the existing slots or other areas of unevenness.
2
Remove the slugs. The profile slug in the latch area must be removed down to the fastening surface.
3
Check whether the latch bolt, control latch and door contact can slide unimpeded over a level surface
to the locking position when the door is closed.
 The profile slugs are smooth and the locking function is assured.
