Installing the lock

Warning!
Risk of injury and life-threatening danger due to dangerous installation work. The machines and tasks
required for complete installation entail a considerable risk of injury. The cutting and preparations in
wood and metal may only be carried out by skilled, qualified personnel who are trained in the necessary
safety measures for the avoidance of severe injury, particularly when handling milling machines, saws, and
drilling machines.
Unsuitable doors reduce personal safety and intrusion protection: Only approved and technically
correct doors are suitable for installation of the multi-point lock 319N. Prior to the installation of the multi-
point lock 319N, the door must be checked to ensure that it is attached properly and is not warped. The
door must be approved for use of the multi-point lock 319N.

Preparation for mounting

1 Create the lock pocket at a suitable mounting position in the door leaf.
2 Finish the holes for the fixing screws (Fig. 21).
3 Finish the holes for the lock fittings.
4 Clean the lock pocket and all drilled holes by blowing them out or vacuuming.
 The lock pocket is now ready for the lock assembly.

Installing the multi-point lock 319N

1 Adjust the closing direction of the control latch
("Adjusting the closing direction of the latch", page 49).
2 Fasten the multi-point lock 319N fully in the lock pocket with M5x45 EN 965 screws.
3 Fasten the lock fittings.
4 Check the multi-point lock 319N for ease of movement.
 Once the striking plate is mounted, the multi-point lock 319N is ready for use.

Mounting the striking plate

1 Finish the striking plate pocket and all holes or finish a customer-provided striking plate ("Production
of customer-provided striking plates", page 56).
2 Clean the striking plate pocket and all holes by blowing them out or vacuuming.
3 Screw in the appropriate striking plate for the multi-point lock 319N to be screwed in completely with
M5x45 EN 965 screws.
4 Check the multi-point lock 319N for ease of movement.
 The multi-point lock 319N is ready for operation.
