7.3.2 CHANGING THE FAN SPEEDS
1
On each fan coil six different air volumes are available, accordingly to a different fan speed
rotation, with the following remarks:
2
units 110÷220 have single-speed electric motor with autotransformer, to obtain 6 dif-
ferent voltages (and 6 speeds);
3
units 222÷328 have six-speeds electric motor.
Generally, there is a triad of speeds, as indicated in the wiring diagram located on the inter-
4
nal frontal part of the unit. Standard speeds are: L-2-3-5.
The triad of speeds can be changed as follows:
5
1.
be sure that the unit has been disconnected
from the power supply;
2.
in models with the casing, it must be removed as
6
described in par. 6.3 of this manual;
3.
remove the filter in models SV/AF, SH/AF, PV/AF,
PH/AF, SVR; for the models CV, CH, CV/AF, CH/AF,
7
CVR remove the structure covering the unit;
4.
before handling the components of the electric
circuit connected with the motor, discharge the
8
capacitor by short-circuiting the clamps with a screwdriver with an insulated handle;
5.
move the spade connectors into the position corresponding to the speeds required,
working on the terminal board indicated by symbols L-M-M-1-2-3-4-5-6 (fan coil with
9
autotransformer Fig. 9) or 0-1-2-3-4-5-6 (six speeds motor) and following the electric
wiring diagram given with the unit;
6.
terminals «L» and «0» must be always connected to the phase. Terminals M-M of the
10
autotransformer correspond to the single-speed of the motor.

7.3.3 REPLACING THE AUTOTRANSFORMER OR THE CAPACITOR

To replace either the autotransformer or the capacitor, repeat the same procedure as for the
modification illustrated in paragraph 7.3.2 until point 4.
Then loosen the fixing nut or the screws and replace the component with a new one hav-
ing the same technical features, in order to avoid alterations on the fan coil's performance.
