The spring-pre-tension can be adjusted by turning a knurled screw (1) at the upper end of the shock absorber. Howe-
ver, do not turn the knurled wheel too far back up, since the spring may then be loose and the lower counterpressure
plate may fall out.
The shock absorbers at the front and rear vehicle axles can be attached in different positions at the damper bridge. At
the rear axle, the shock absorber can also be installed in different positions at the lower transverse link (3).
Always set the shock absorbers for one axle evenly (at the left and right wheels of the front or rear axle). Otherwise,
driving behaviour will be influenced negatively.
If the setting is too stiff, the vehicle will jump even on a small unevenness, and the wheels will lose touch with the
ground. When the setting is too soft, the vehicle will rebound too strongly, and the chassis will touch the ground.
As another setting options, springs with a different stiffness may be used, or the shock absorbers may be filled with
damper oil of a different viscosity.
Just as with a „real" car, the shock absorbers (or the rubber seals in them) on the model car are a wearing part. If
oil is running from the shock absorbers (e.g. lower transverse link strongly oiled, dripping traces), the seals or shock
absorbers must be replaced.
