10.
Watch the weight of the goods to be
loaded
Get an idea of the goods to be loaded and
transported. Use resources, if required, to find
out about the weight, dimensions, etc.
Try to avoid using ropes to lift the goods.
The rope could slip from the fork and thus
damage goods or the stacker truck, or even
injure people. If using ropes cannot be avoided,
a qualified person must attach a retaining
device to the stacker truck (e.g. crane arm). In
doing so, always keep in mind the centre of
gravity of the load and the relevant load
capacity.
Make sure that the forks do not protrude
too far from the goods/pallet. This could lead to
damage to goods placed in the vicinity, and
would
make
the
unnecessarily complex.
11.
Use appropriate pallets only
The pallets and baskets etc. used for the transport
must be designed to carry the weight of the goods.
Never use broken or damaged pallets or baskets.
12.
Use original attachment parts only
Only use original HanseLifter® spare parts and
accessories. The warranty shall be null and void, if
any other purchased parts are used.
13.
Load safety guard
The load safety guard protects you and your load. If
these are defective or deformed, the stacker truck
must be put out of commission until these defects
are rectified.
14.
Never walk on top of or underneath the
forks
It is generally prohibited to linger
underneath
attachments. Regardless of whether
these are loaded or unloaded.
If the stacker truck is parked, the
forks must be lowered to the end
position to prevent potential falls or
tripping
prohibited to stand on top of or walk
across the fork or load.

Hazard source mast
Keep all parts of your body at a safe
distance from moving components of
the stacker truck. Parts of your body
could be crushed or amputated!
The same applies to the loads.
16.
Centring the centre of gravity of the load
The centre of gravity of the loaded goods should
always be positioned in the centre. Otherwise,
goods may drop (see Figure 4 Load centre of
gravity), forks may get damaged, or the stacker
truck may tip over. Never load one fork only.

17.
Do not stack the load too high
Make sure to never stack the goods above the load
safety guard to prevent the goods from falling. If,
however, it cannot be avoided, make sure you
provide an appropriate support. If the load is higher,
and/or visibility is no longer ensured, drive in
reverse, and/or let another person guide you.
18.
Handling bulky goods
When loading bulky goods that restricts the
visibility, drive in reverse, and/or let another person
guide you. If another person guides you, make sure
you know how to interpret hand signals, flags or
any other signals used.
If you are handling goods that are extraordinarily
long, such as pipes, construction timber, etc., pay
attention of the ends of the goods. These may
swing sideways significantly, especially, when
negotiating turns. Watch out for your colleagues!
