Safety instructions

Please read the safety instructions carefully, and
familiarize yourself with the stacker truck. The
safety instructions comprise basic guidelines,
notices and warnings that must be observed during
the daily operation of your stacker truck. The
instructions are kept generic, and can also be
applied to other stacker truck models.
1.
Personal protective equipment
Direct protection of the body must be ensured by
appropriate personal protective equipment. This
can prevent injuries and accidents, or minimize the
consequences. Always wear personal protective
equipment while operating the stacker truck. Your
personal protective equipment should include the
following:
Appropriate clothing - the clothing must be
snug on the body as not to get caught on
levers, hooks or similar. Jackets must be
buttoned up.
Protective helmet
Protective gloves for working with cargo
Protective footwear
Special safety equipment, if required - e.g.
while handling hazardous substances
Hearing protection if the permissible sound
pressure level is exceeded
2.
The driver must hold a driving licence
Not everyone in the company is authorised to drive
a stacker truck. Only persons that have been
instructed accordingly are authorised to drive a
stacker
truck.
Therefore,
equipment to anyone who is not authorised to drive

Daily visual inspection
Before starting to drive, the driver must check the
stacker truck for safety deficiencies. Also during
operation, the driver must ensure that technical
safety criteria are met. Deficiencies that arise must
be reported to the superior without delay. Then wait
for further instructions.
5.
Steering and negotiating curves
Unlike with a passenger car, pallet stackers are
steered via the rear axle. This causes the rear
(drawbar) of the stacker truck to pivot during
steering manoeuvres. While negotiating curves,
centrifugal forces occur that are acting outward.
When negotiating curves too sharply or too fast, the
centrifugal forces will act outward, which may cause
the stacker truck to roll over. Therefore, always
negotiate turns widely and with moderate speeds.
6.
Never overload the stacker truck
The maximum load depends on the location of the
centre of gravity of the load, how far it is from the
back of the fork, and how high the load must be
lifted. For more detailed information, please refer to
the load capacity chart on the frame of the fork.
7.
Operate the stacker truck from the
control station only

prevention of hazards and accidents.
8.
Always keep an eye on your route
Driving safely requires good visibility. You have the
option to drive forward or in reverse. Always choose
the direction to drive in based on good visibility.
9.
Do not give rides to anyone
Never allow another person to ride on the stacker
truck with you. This applies to the fork, or a pallet,
or the stacker truck itself.
