109. Fit the joiner wire into the elevator halves. The elevator joiner
wire must be fl ush with the leading edge of the elevator
as shown. Check to make sure the elevator halves are in
alignment with each other, and lay fl at on the work surface.
 Poorly aligned elevators will cause problems
with trimming your model in flight.
110. If the elevators are not in alignment, use pliers to bend
the joiner wire slightly to bring the halves into alignment.
Continue the assembly of your model once the joiner wire has
been correctly checked and adjusted.
111. Mix a small amount of 15-minute epoxy. Use a toothpick to
apply epoxy to the joiner wire.
112. Use a toothpick to apply epoxy to the stabilizer where it
contacts the joiner wire.
113. Insert the joiner wire into the elevator halves, making sure the
joiner is orients so the elevators are aligned correctly. Remove
any excess epoxy using a paper towel and isopropyl alcohol.
Use low-tack tape to hold the joiner in position until the epoxy
fully cures.

114. Use 15-minute epoxy to attach the blue elevator control horn
to the elevator. Use the control horn installation outlined for
the aileron control horns when installing this control horn.
115. Use a pin vise and 1/16-inch (1.5mm) drill bit to drill a hole in
the center of each hinge slot to allow the CA to wick into the
hinge. Drill holes in both the elevators and stabilizer surfaces.
Place a T-pin in the center of each hinge. This will help center
the hinge when it is placed in the elevators. Slide the hinges
into position with the T-pin resting against the edge of the
control surface.
116. Fit the elevators to the stabilizer. Align the elevators to the
stabilizer. Glue the hinges following the procedure outlined
earlier for the aileron hinges.

117. Fit the fi n to the fuselage. Use a square to check the
alignment of the fi n to the stabilizer. Lightly sand the bottom
of the fi n if necessary to correct any alignment problems.
118. Mix 1/2 ounce (15ml) of 30-minute epoxy. Use an epoxy
brush to apply the epoxy to the exposed wood on the top of
the fuselage and stabilizer.
