4 Mounting

4.1 Transporting the pressure equipment

▶ Transport the pressure equipment screwed on a pal-
let.
▶ Lift the pressure equipment using transport slings or
the upper fastening brackets if available. Never lift it
at a valve or at other mounted parts.
DANGER
Suspended load!
Do not step under the machine!

4.1.2

Centres of gravity

The centre of gravity is approximately in the middle.
The centre of gravity of pressure equipment with large,
laterally mounted valves is displaced towards these
valves. If equipped with a second refrigerant outlet at
the bottom, it is displaced additionally to that direction.

4.2 Installation location

▶ Install and mount the pressure equipment horizont-
ally.
▶ In case of use under extreme conditions e. g. ag-
gressive atmosphere or in splash seawater areas:
Protect the pressure equipment against corrosion.
Take suitable measures in case of low outside tem-
peratures. Consultation with BITZER is recommen-
ded.
NOTICE
!
!
Danger of freezing!
Ensure at any time that the temperature at place
of installation is high enough above the freezing
point of the coolant.

4.3 System design

4.3.1

Arranging for removal clearances

▶ When installing the shell and tube condenser in the
system, arrange for removal and maintenance clear-
ances of sufficient size:
• In front of each reversing cover: Clearance for the
removal of the cover,
at least depth of the cover plus 20 mm.
• In front of one of the two reversing covers: Work
area for cleaning the pipe bundles on the coolant
side with a brush,
at least length of the entire shell and tube con-
denser.
4.3.2
Mounting a compressor on the shell and
tube condenser
NOTICE
!
!
The pipe bundles may break due to permanent
vibration!
If a compressor is mounted on the shell and
tube condenser, the transfer of vibrations must
be kept to a minimum!
▶ Mount the compressor only on shell and tube con-
densers that are equipped with upper fixing brackets,
i. e. the types K..H(B) and K..T(B).
▶ Mount only approved compressors on the shell and
tube condensers.
▶ Use only suitable fixing elements, see brochure
DP-200, fixing rails and fixing plates.
▶ Mount vibration dampers between compressor and
fixing element.
