CAUTION – Cables - Overload
Possible risk of personal injury
Make sure that any cable
connected to a high current
capable power source, such
as a 12-volt automotive bat-
tery, is in good condition. The
MTS 6531 is protected
by its own internal protection
device. A fault in the cable itself,
especially a power to ground
short, is capable of creating a
hazardous situation that can
cause personal injury.
CAUTION – Loopback Self-Test
Adapter - Overload
Possible risk of personal injury
Do not apply power to
MTS 6531 through the
self-test adapter barrel connec-
tor unless the circuit is protec-
ted by a fuse, circuit breaker, or
current-limited power supply.
The fuse, circuit breaker, or cur-
rent-limited power supply must
be set to no more than 3 amps.

Resetting the MTS 6531
1. Disconnect the voltage supply from the
MTS 6531.
2. Wait at least 20 seconds.
3. Reattach the voltage supply to the
MTS 6531.

Loopback self-test
With the self-test adapter you can conduct a lo-
opback self-test of the MTS 6531. using
the following steps.
1. Connect the diagnostic connection cable to
the MTS 6531.
2. Connect the self-test adapter to the vehicle
end of the diagnostic connection cable.
3. Power the self-test adapter either via a vehic-
le connection or a 12-V power adapter.
4. Start VCI Manager and connect the
MTS 6531.
5. In VCI Manager, choose "Help".
6. Press <Aktualisieren> (Update) to have the
search for available WLAN signals.
