whenever you leave the machine, before
refueling and before any maintenance or
cleaning.
- Do not tamper in any way with the safety
devices. Do not use the machine if the
safety devices are not perfectly efficient.
- Never wrap the starter cord around your
hand.
WARNING - To start up the machine, you
must stand in the area indicated (Fig. 5).
Before starting the engine:
- open the fuel stop-cock (A, Fig.6).
- Move the gearshift lever (B) to the neutral
position N (Fig.8)
- Do not lower the clutch lever (1, Fig.2) to
make sure that the brakes are activated.
- Set the starter lever (C, Fig,7) to "CLOSE" for
cold starts. CAUTION: for hot starts this
lever must be set to "OPEN".
- Set the throttle lever (D, Fig.9) to a position
between "SLOW" and "FAST".
- Set the switch (E, Fig.10) to position 1.
WARNING! FOR FURTHER INFORMATION
O N T H E S TA R T- U P P R O C E D U R E ,
CAREFULLY READ THE ENGINE MANUAL.
With the engine running, set the starter lever
(C, Fig. 7) to the "OPEN" position.
CAUTION
- The choke must be closed as soon as the
engine is running smoothly. Using it when
the engine is already warm can foul the spark
plug and cause the engine to run erratically.
- To start work, bring the throttle lever to the
FAST position (D, Fig. 11).
How to start in forward or reverse
1. Put the gear shift lever (8, Figure 2) to the
desired position, 1-2-3-(4 only models with
4+2 gearbox) forward, R - (R1 - R2 only
models with 4+2 gearbox) reverse. Set the
Slow-Fast speed lever to S or F (only models
with 4+2 gearbox).
2. Increase the engine speed slowly using the
accelerator (3).
3. Gradually lower the clutch lever (1). The
machine will begin to move forward or
backward slowly.
WARNING!
- Accelerate and decelerate slowly as you
start to moving forward or in reverse, and
when you stop.
- R e d u c e t h e s p e e d w h e n c h a n g i n g
direction. Decrease pressure even when
you are in a slope, on the edge of a road, or
on a bumpy road with many curves.
- Do not move diagonally on a slope.
- When using the reverse, move at low
speed and pay attention to what you have
behind.
How to bend
1. Pull the crawlers lock lever (2 or 5, Fig.2) of
the side to which you want to bend; left lever
(2) to turn left and right lever (5) to turn
right.
2. After bending, release the lever (2 or 5).
WARNING!
- To stop the machine in motion do not
simultaneously pull the two crawler lock
levers (2 and 5, Fig.2), but release the
clutch lever (1).
- Do not use the crawler lock levers to bend
when you are going downhill. Reduce
speed to idle if absolutely essential.
How to change speed
1. Release the clutch lever (1, Fig.2).
2. Put the gear shift lever (8) in the desired
speed position, 1-2-3-(4 only models with
4+2 gearbox) forward, R - (R1 - R2 only
models with 4+2 gearbox) reverse. Set the
Slow-Fast speed lever to S or F (only models
with 4+2 gearbox).
3. Gradually lower the clutch lever (1). The
machine will start moving slowly.
CAUTION
- Release clutch lever (1) before using gear
lever (8) and on 4+2 models also the Slow-
Fast speed lever (12).
- Do not force gear lever (8) and on 4+2
models also the Slow-Fast speed lever
