Safety Devices

PLEASE NOTE!
Switch off the heat supply immediately if steam continuously escapes from the safety
valve or from the safety steam release valve. Only continue with the cooking process
if the pressure cooker and all safety devices are in full working order.
The pressure cooker has various safety devices:

– Pressure control valve (1)

– Safety valve (2)
– Safety steam release valve (9)
– Slide bar (3)
Pressure Control Valve
The pressure control valve (1) regulates the pressure inside the pressure cooker. Once
the pressure inside the cooker reaches the set operating pressure, the valve opens au-
tomatically. This allows pressure in the form of steam to escape from the cooker pot (6).
The pressure control valve can be used to make the following settings:
– 1
Position for low pressure level (60 kPa)
– 2
Position for high pressure level (100 kPa)
Position for steam release
– Ø
Position for releasing the pressure control valve
Safety Valve
The safety valve (2) automatically releases steam (pressure) when excess pressure
builds up. When the internal pressure has built up, the valve head of the safety valve in
the pressure lid (10) rises up and thus prevents the possibility of the pressure lid being
opened. The red valve head is visible when it has risen up in the pressure lid. If the pres-
sure control valve (1) is not working, steam is released through the safety valve within the
safety pressure to reduce pressure. If steam continuously emerges from the safety valve,
interrupt the supply of heat immediately and remove the pressure cooker from the stove.
Wait until the pressure cooker has cooled down and the internal pressure has become
normal again. Check the safety valves (see the "Cleaning and Storage" chapter). Only
continue with the cooking process if the pressure cooker and all safety devices are in full
working order!
Safety Steam Release Valve
The safety steam release valve (9) is an additional safety element which is incorporated
into the lid. If the pressure control valve (1) and the safety valve (2) should be blocked
and / or defective and the internal pressure has risen too high, steam is released via the
safety steam release valve through the opening in the pressure lid (10) and the internal
pressure can then be reduced to a lower level. If this situation arises, interrupt the sup-
ply of heat immediately and remove the pressure cooker from the stove. Wait until the
pressure cooker has cooled down and the internal pressure has become normal again.
Check the safety valves and the sealing ring (8) (see the "Cleaning and Storage" chap-
