Danger of scalding from hot steam or an uncontrolled emission of steam!
Hot steam emerges from the valves! Always keep your face and hands away from
the area of the valve outlet openings!
Be careful when opening the lid as hot steam may escape from inside the cooker.
When reducing pressure under running water, always keep your hands, head and
body out of the danger area.
WARNING – Danger of Fire
When preparing recipes which are based on alcohol, you must keep a particularly
careful eye on the pressure cooker. Alcohol vapours are fl ammable. Bring the food to
the boil about 2 minutes before you put the lid on.
NOTE – Risk of Damage to Material and Property
Before each use, check that the pressure cooker and the safety devices are in per-
fect working order. Do not use the pressure cooker if it is damaged or the valves are
blocked. Do not attempt to repair damage yourself but instead contact a specialist or
our customer service department.
Never heat up the pressure cooker without adding liquid to it fi rst. Heating up
the pressure cooker without any liquid in it would result in serious damage to the
pressure cooker. The pressure cooker should always be fi lled with at least 1/4 l of
liquid.
Never fi ll the pressure cooker with more than 2/3 of its nominal volume. If you are
cooking foodstuffs such as rice or dried vegetables which swell up during cooking,
only ever fi ll the pressure cooker up to half of its nominal volume.
Do not overheat the pressure cooker! Overheating can result in material dam-
age and the production of smoke. If smoke is produced, switch off the stove im-
mediately, remove the pressure cooker from the hot hob and make sure there is
suffi cient ventilation in the room.
Notes on induction stoves:
– Induction stoves heat up at a faster rate than other types of stove.
– Noises may be produced when pressure cookers are used on induction stoves.
These are caused by the electromagnetic properties of induction stoves and
induction crockery and do not constitute a defect.
Keep the pressure control valve, sealing ring, sliding knob, cooker lid and cooker
clean before and after use. Keep all parts free of any contamination and grease
stains (see the "Cleaning and Storage" chapter).
Do not allow the pressure cooker to drop or subject it to strong impacts.
Only use spare parts or accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer and
fi t the particular model. In particular, never replace the lid or the cooker with a lid /
cooker from another model.
