3. Intended use

This product has two main functions. It is designed to detect metals (including
ferrous and non-ferrous metals such as reinforcement steel, copper pipes and de-
energized electrical wires), wooden beams and live AC electrical wires in walls,
ceilings and floors. DC voltages in hidden electrical wires can be detected. The
product locates the centre points/lines and depths of these objects in the examined
materials. These materials can be plasterboard, concrete, brick with ceramic tiles or
wood. For information on specific restrictions, refer to the relevant chapters.
The product can also be used to take laser measurements of distances and
surface areas. Measurements can be added and subtracted. The height can be
determined trigonometrically via the indirect measurement function (Pythagorean
measurement). The device can also take continuous measurements. In addition,
results can be determined from several measurements using the Pythagorean
theorem. Measurements are displayed in metric units (metres, square metres).
A built-in memory automatically stores up to 30 measurements.
This product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with
moisture, for example in bathrooms, must be avoided.
For safety and approval purposes, do not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using
the product for purposes other than those described above may damage the
product. In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as a short-circuit, fire
or electric shock. Read the operating instructions carefully and store them in a safe
place. Only make this product available to third parties together with its operating
instructions.
