Briefly press the ON / DIST / OK (6) button (6) to switch on the device. If voice

prompts are switched on, the current test mode will be announced after a short
self-test. The laser measurement and detection device is now ready for use.
• The default measurement mode is the single measurement function.
Exercise caution when the laser is switched on and do not point the laser
at the eyes of people or animals or at reflective surfaces.
• If no buttons are pressed and no objects are detected for 5 minutes, the device
will automatically switch off to conserve battery power.
• The laser switches off after a few seconds (approx. 20 s) of inactivity. The
energy-saving function automatically switches the device off after 5 minutes
when it is not in use.
• To switch off the device, press C/OFF button (1). The device will turn off.
f) Important information about taking measurements
• The laser must be pointed at the area you want to measure. There must be no
objects in the laser's direct measuring line.
• The device compensates the measurement for different room temperatures.
Wait for the device to adjust to the ambient temperature, especially when
moving between measurement sites with large temperature differences.
• The device can only be used in outdoor areas to a limited extent. It must not be
used in strong sunlight.
• Outdoor measurements can be influenced or distorted by rain, fog and snow.
• In unfavourable conditions (e.g. poorly reflective surfaces), the maximum
deviation may be greater than normal. Carpets, cushions or curtains do not
reflect the laser optimally. Take measurements on level surfaces.
• Measurements made through glass (window panes) may distort the
measurement results.
g) Triggering individual measurements
• Press the ON / DIST / OK button (6) to switch on the laser. If voice prompts are
enabled, the measurement mode will be stated in a voice prompt. The default
measuring mode is the individual measurement function.
