The shaded metal symbol in the centre usually indicates magnetic materials. An
unshaded symbol indicates a non-magnetic metal. These objects are usually
copper pipes. In stainless steel, the device cannot usually detect whether the metal
is magnetic or non-magnetic.
If the device displays a material as magnetic or non-magnetic, the detection depth
will also be displayed. (As shown in figs. 1, 2 and fig. 3). Otherwise, the distance
from the surface will not be displayed (as shown in fig. 4).
When an electrical conductor and AC electrical signals are detected simultaneously
(as shown in fig. 1), audible prompts will be played in quick succession. The AC
power icon will also be displayed to indicate that a live alternating current conductor
has been detected.
Calibrating in non-metal detection mode

• To calibrate, press the on/off (2) button to switch on the device.
• Press the wood detection button (1) to switch to non-metal detection mode. If
voice prompts are enabled, the current detection mode will be indicated by a
voice prompt.
• The calibration process will start automatically. Do not move the device for
approx. 1-3 seconds, and wait until the calibration process is complete (as
shown in figs. 5 and 6) before detecting any objects.
