To change the reference edge, proceed as follows:
• Use the buttons (5 or 8) to select the reference edge setting. Press the ON /
DIST / OK button (6) to confirm. The reference edge symbol (
appear in the centre left of the LCD display (10). The LCD display (10) shows
the current reference edge with a symbol. A beep confirms the switch.
Starting point: Rear side
The length of the device is included in the measured value.
Starting point: Front side
The length of the device is not included in the measured value.
The reference edge setting is retained after the device is switched off and
is used again immediately the next time the device is switched on.
q) Changing the units of measurement
You can change the display unit for measured values.
Use the buttons (5 or 8) to select the unit of measurement. Press the ON /

DIST / OK button (6) to confirm. The selected unit "in/ft" or "m" will be shown on
the LCD display (10) after a measured value. The following units are available:
- m = Metres
- "Ft" = Feet / "in" = inches
r) Turning voice prompts on/off
You can turn voice prompts on or off. The respective setting is not reset when the
device is switched off and is retained when the device is switched on again.
• Use the buttons (5 or 8) to select the voice prompt setting. Press the ON /
DIST / OK button (6) to confirm. The

Voice prompts are switched on. The device will issue voice prompts and
beep during use.
