• Move the device further in the same direction. When the device moves away
from the centre of the detected object, the number of bars (as shown in fig. 7)
will decrease. Keep moving the device until there is no signal. Fig. 6 will appear
again on the LCD display (10). The detection process is now complete.
Repeat this procedure several times in different directions (left to right
or vice versa) to improve the positioning accuracy. When the device is
above the centre of the detected object (at a right angle to the device), the
"Centre" symbol will appear on the LCD display above the signal strength
bar.
• Mark the centre point/centre line of the object in a suitable way to ensure that
you can find it easily later.
Meaning of the detection symbols

A The "Centre" symbol indicates that the device has detected the maximum
signal strength. The detected object is located in the immediate vicinity, directly
under the middle of the detector.
B This symbol shows the current detection depth numerically in mm.
