The detection depth is shown on the LCD display during the detection
process. The accuracy of this depth value depends on the shape and
material of the measured metal, the spatial location/distribution of the
measured object relative to the device and the material properties of the
detected object. The accuracy of the displayed depth value is at its best
when the object is a standard steel rod with a diameter of 18 mm or
a copper pipe with a diameter of 18 mm. Otherwise, the depth value can
only serve as an approximate reference value.
To locate metal parts or electrical wires and cables, proceed as follows:
When the device is switched on, press the button (3) to switch to metal detection
mode. The LCD display will indicate that the device is in metal detection mode.
Place the bottom of the device on the surface you wish to inspect.
Move the device slowly in one direction and then scan the searched area in the
opposite direction without placing your fingers on the inspected surface (starting
from the left and then the right, or vice versa).
When a metal object is detected, one of the symbols for detected metal will
appear on the LCD display (10). A voice prompt will also be played to confirm
the detection of the corresponding material type. The metal symbol will
gradually get larger as the device approaches the metal object, or smaller as it
moves away from the object.
Repeat this procedure several times in different directions (left to right or vice
versa) to confirm a detection result and determine the location as accurately as
possible. When the device is very close to the metal object, the metal symbol
will appear on the LCD display.
