2 Product safety

2.1 Periodic checks

IMPORTANT!
The product requires regular checks to ensure
product safety. The required intervals are to
be observed.
WARNING!
– It is recommended to check the bath lift after
24 months at the latest (in accordance with
EN ISO 10535) and the suction cups must be
replaced.
– Check the electrical safety of the product in
line with national requirements.

2.1.1 Visual check

1. Check the seat plate, backrest plate and base plate for
damage and ensure they are complete.
2. Check the shear arms and gliding shoes by lifting them
and pushing them together again.
3. Check the bolts at the bearings of the seat plate/shear
arms and base plate/shear arms.
4. Examine the hand control for any damage. Replace
the hand control if the housing of the hand control is
damaged or cracked.
5. Examine the plug-in charger for any damage.

2.1.2 Function check

1. Use a voltmeter to check the charger for open-circuit
voltage between 24 V and 26 V at the charging poles
of the jack plug.
2. Check the function of the hand control by pressing
the stop and directional button at the same time (the
charge diode lights up). If the hand control is fully
charged, the minimum number of lifts by the bath
lift under maximum load must be achieved without
recharging (ORCA, ORCA F: 5 lifts, ORCA XL: 4 lifts.
3. Raise and lower the bath lift under maximum load to
check its functions and listen for any unusual noises.

2.1.3 Checking electrical safety

IMPORTANT!
Regular electrical checks according to EN 62353
(VDE0751) must be carried out in line with
national requirements.
1. Inspect the charger together with the hand control
for damage to the casing or cable, test functions and
check for stray current.

2.1.4 Check list

General inspection
Is the device in good condition and is it complete
(device and accessories)?
Is the identification label easily readable and is it
securely mounted on the product?
Have subsequent changes been made to the
product?
Is the device free from damage or weaknesses
of any kind? Does the device operate correctly
under nominal load?
Is the device fully functional in accordance with
the user manual? Is the product accompanied
by a user manual?
Is all safety equipment working as intended?
Is the device electrically safe, where relevant?
Are all safety-related notices sufficiently legible?
Is there an identification label and is this securely
attached to the supporting surface?
Eradication of faults
Have all the faults found been eliminated and
have faulty components been replaced?
Does the device now operate correctly?
Is all safety equipment now working as intended? ☐ ☐
Are all the necessary safety-related notices now
in place?
Completion of checks
Has the device been cleaned and disinfected?
Is the device technically and functionally safe?
Is the device electrically safe, where relevant?
Is the identification label easily readable and is it
securely mounted on the product?
Has the device been packed correctly?

2.2 Servicing

If the cleaning and safety notices are observed, the
product will be maintenance free.
